Kegel apps for men, compared

By ·

Short answer: All of these apps do the same core thing — time a squeeze, time a release, count the rounds — and no app can tell whether you are contracting the right muscle. So pick on price, tolerance for upselling, and whether the app trains release as well as squeeze. Dr. Kegel has by far the largest user base. Kegel Trainer is the cheapest credible option and is not men-specific. Better P is the most expensive. VitalityRise — ours — is the only one here that offers a one-time lifetime purchase, and the newest, with no rating history to judge it by.

Disclosure: we make VitalityRise, one of the apps in this table. That is a reason to read our entry sceptically, so we have listed its weaknesses alongside everything else's. Every price below was read from each app's own US App Store listing on 10 August 2026 — we take no affiliate commission from any of these links, and there are no affiliate links on this page.

There are dozens of these apps and they are much more alike than their marketing suggests. All of them time a contraction, time a release, count rounds, and draw a streak. The differences that actually affect whether you get anything out of one are narrow, so this page leads with them.

The comparison

Better P
Appinity
4.67 · 440 ratings $19.99/mo · $39.99/12wk · $59.99/6mo · $99.99/yr No The most expensive per year of anything here, with no lifetime option.

Too new to have ratings $4.99/wk · $9.99/mo · $34.99/yr
3-day free trial on monthly and yearly
Yes — $99.99 lifetime One price per period, no add-on purchases. 30-day structured plan rather than an open library. No rating history, and a small developer — if longevity matters to you, that is a real mark against it.

Ratings and prices are US App Store figures read on 10 August 2026. Several of these apps list many concurrent price points for the same product, which is what continuous price testing looks like from outside; what you are offered may differ from what is listed.

What actually distinguishes them

Whether the app trains release

A pelvic floor that will not relax causes pain, urinary hesitancy and, for some men, worse sexual function — and it is a real risk of enthusiastic unsupervised training. Apps that treat the release as dead time between squeezes teach the wrong pattern. Look for a relax phase that is timed, cued and at least as long as the hold.

How hard it upsells

Two of the apps above sell add-on packs on top of a subscription. That is worth weighing, because the whole product is a few minutes of timed contractions and there is no feature in this category worth $39.90 on top of what you already paid.

Whether it is a plan or a library

An open library of exercises leaves you deciding what to do today, which is the decision most people get wrong or skip. A fixed progression removes it. This is preference, not evidence — but if you have abandoned exercise apps before, it is usually here.

What none of them do

None of these apps can tell whether you are contracting the pelvic floor or your buttocks. The trial that produced the good erectile function numbers used manometric biofeedback and a physiotherapist for exactly that reason. If you are unsure about technique, the highest-value thing you can buy is not an app — it is one session with a pelvic health physiotherapist.

Common questions

Do kegel apps actually work?

The app is a timer and a habit device; the exercise is what works, and only when the technique is right. The clinical trial that produced the good numbers for erectile dysfunction used a physiotherapist and a manometric biofeedback device — neither of which any of these apps replicate. If you will do the protocol without an app, you lose nothing by not buying one.

What is the best free kegel app for men?

There is no genuinely free option among the men's apps: all of them are free downloads with the training behind a subscription. Kegel Trainer PFM Exercises has the lowest listed prices and unlockable one-time purchases, but it is a general pelvic floor app rather than a men's one. The actual free option is a phone timer and the protocol on our kegel page.

Why are these apps so expensive?

Because they are sold through onboarding funnels that qualify a motivated user and then present a subscription, and because the category converts well. Several of the apps here list five or more concurrent price points for the same product, which is what running continuous price tests looks like from the outside. Assume the price you see is the price you were assigned, not the price.

Which kegel app has the most users?

Dr. Kegel: For Men's Health, with over 43,000 App Store ratings in the US at the time of writing — an order of magnitude more than anything else in the men's category.

Does an app help more than just doing kegels myself?

Only in the two ways any exercise app helps: it removes the decision about what to do today, and it makes skipping visible. If those are your failure points, an app earns its money. If your failure point is technique, none of these fixes it and a pelvic health physiotherapist would.
